To start let me say that Joanie and Adam are wonderful!
Second, let me say that I photograph relationships. I love relationships as I think they are what make life worth living, they are the source and outlet of joy, truth and love.
Life moves? if there?s one constant in life it is that life is changing, forever changing. And like life, our relationships are forever changing, hopefully forever growing. A person?s being, who they are, is a mystery whose entirety is unknowable and in one way relationships are about perpetually getting closer and closer to the other person on a journey towards knowing the beauty of that person.
From my own experience, many times in my relationship with my wife I realize how much more I love her today compared to our wedding day. I know that I loved her on our wedding day, but compared to today, over 6 years later, there is no comparison. I love her SO much more now. I think that this growth is beautiful. I think it is something that has so much value that it is worth capturing and communicating with photography as a way of documenting and celebrating the growth of our life?s relationships, the most valuable things we have been given.
This bring me to introduce a new avenue of my work. I love weddings and will continue to pursue weddings, while at the same time I am beginning the work of documenting relationship as they develop and mature with time. For now, I?m calling it Growing Love.
Joanie and Adam were my second session in this new avenue of pursuing the beauty of relationships. If your relationship has grown since your wedding day. If you have a similar experience to mine of being so much more in love now than on your wedding day and are interested in this type of documentation of your relationship as it matures, please contact me because I am interested in it too.
