Kim professional makeup brushes

The people at KIM Professional Makeup were kind enough to send over a face, eye and lip makeup brush for us to review. I?ve never been one to spend money on expensive professional makeup brushes, always reaching for the cheap drugstore alternatives instead, but after a trial run with KIM professional makeup brushes, I think I?ve changed my mind.

kim face-brushThe soft hair/large contour brush for the face (F212) held up to its name. It was unbelievably soft ? and even better than that, it worked great. When I apply powder, I usually use the sponge that comes with my compact, but using this brush for the application actually gave me more coverage while using less product. And instead of having to wipe tons of powder on the sponge, and then swipe it over my face, leaving a powdery caked-on look, this brush gave natural coverage that left detecting the powder on my face nearly impossible.

The angle of the face brush gives you the ability to contour and emphasize cheekbones, so this would also double as a great brush to use with blush. And, for only $25, this professional makeup brush is affordable in comparison to other lines.

kim brushes eye shaderTheir eye shader brush (E122) is a medium width, flat, oval brush that is meant to be used with shiny shadows and for precise or fine makeup application. I tried this brush out with a shimmering lavender eye shadow I use regularly and instantly noticed a difference. This eye shader brush provides more coverage with more control, giving me a darker color than I usually get when applying the sponge tip applicator the shadow originally came with.

This medium width brush is also the perfect size to multi-task shadow applications, with the ability to use it for all over coverage or just to apply shading to a specific area of the lid. This brush is only $12 and worth every penny.

kim brushes lip brushThe narrow lip brush (L311) is a flat, tipped brush for precise lining of the lip and for application of lip creams and gloss. I?ve never been a fan of using brushes to apply lipstick, although most makeup professionals swear by it. This would be an especially useful makeup brush if you love dark lipsticks because you can apply precise coverage while avoiding lipstick-stained teeth.

But I absolutely loved using this brush for applying gloss. ?I soon realized it gave me thicker, more precise application than the wand the gloss came with. My gloss even seemed to stay in place longer than usual ? I don?t know how to credit the brush for this, but somehow it did it. This brush is only $9, which definitely makes it an affordable brush for lipstick (and gloss) lovers.

KIM brushes were created by the fine art brushmakers Rekab. For the past 100 years, professional artists have been using Rekab brushes, and the excellent craftsmanship of these art brushes inspired the creation of KIM makeup brushes for professionals, giving beauty fanatics everywhere a reason to rejoice.
