Here?s the story of one mom and some of her kittens, and an additional orphan.

?

?

Monique was rescued on the Red Lake reservation by a brother and sister.? An additional kitten was found the next day and accepted by another mom with a litter.

?

Well, Karen got a call from Vivian on Thursday, July 12th reporting
that her little brother had been walking in the woods in her
neighborhood and came across a cage sitting there- Inside the cage
was a beautiful calico, we named Monique and her 4 tiny kittens about
a week old at that time.? Also in the cage was a little tabby we call
Manny.? Manny clearly was not Moniques kitten, but he was with the
group. Manny nurses on Monique and she fondly grooms him. There was
no food or water in the cage.? It was very hot out and they were
found just in time to save their lives.

?

Monique arrived at Red Lake Rosie?s Rescue and was dehydrated.? She was well cared for and she and her babies, Manny (who may be Missy), and 3 other abandoned kittens have been taken into Pet Haven foster care.? Karen has taken in 2 kittens from Leech Lake impound now that she has a few open cages and they will, hopefully, be pulled for rescue along with the other young adults, moms and litter still at Red Lake.? Transport was provided by volunteers who love animals -? from the Bemidji area, from a Leech Lake Legacy volunteer and the help of other humane societies who took other unwanted dogs and puppies.

?

It take a village.? You?re a part of the village!? Bowl, fund raise, help us all help more people who would like to keep their loved pet but do not have the financial means to spay and neuter.
